Last-minute shopping
Holy moly! This was the line outside the St. George Spirits distillery yesterday, where people waited for two hours in line to buy absinthe. Methinks it's long sold out by now.

They sold out about 6:00 PM on Friday. When I finally made it to the front of the line, there were only 20 bottles left. I took six of them (and ducked out through the tasting room to avoid the long line of folks who were going to walk away empty handed!) Once it became clear that they would run out, the Hangar One guys started taking names and contact info from the people at the end of the line -- they'll be getting first dibs on the next batch coming out in January.
I heard anecdotally that people walking from the distillery with their bottles were selling them to others at the end of the line at a steep markup. I didn't see that with my own eyes, but there is a bottle on eBay right now with an opening bid of $150.
