And you are?

I just read over all the endless ballot initiatives before I go to vote. The California ones are nearly all stupid and why do we keep having to borrow money to accomplish things we can do without borrowing money?

The local San Francisco referendums are hilarious. My favorite thing about them is reading the barely literate ramblings of republican Gail E. Neira, who opposes things. Here is one of my favorites:
I am not willing to be a sacrificial lamb to the whims of any of our elected or politically appointed leaders applying constitutional rights to empower anyone, U.S. citizen or other philosophical ideologies intended to erode our historical objectives of Democracy.
What does that even mean? This is somehow related to disclosing private information by contractors of the city. Not sure how it fits in, and the rest of her argument doesn't clarify. It just uses a bunch of "protect American democracy!" statements to no conclusion.

Then there is this gem about the Parking Tax Ordinance:
We taxpayers and transportation consumers are becoming like mice in a cage with no exit.
Um, that metaphor is so mixed I don't even understand what she's saying.

I just looked her up- she's running for California State Assembly, District 13, against Mark Leno. If elected, her top priorities include:
To make a higher level of literacy, math, global & American history, & science the utmost priority in California.
Honey, that literacy training? It starts at home.
