INTRODUCING.... Rent-A-Cat!

I'm sure to see a surge in blog traffic, now that I have a cat to write about.

I am now the proud (temporary) owner of Sharook, the animal henceforth known as rent-a-cat. My neighbor Robert owns two cats. His flatmate Metal Patricia got his own cat about a year ago, and as the cat as grown he's taken to torturing one of Robert's cats. They eventually got Sharook a collar with a bell on it so that the tortured kitty would at least know that Sharook is coming, but that hasn't worked. The cat has phantom hairballs due to stress now.

Robert plans to move out in a few months, so in an extend or save the life of his cat, rent-a-cat has come to live with me until then.

Rent-a-cat is some sort of cross-eyed Siamese. Though I've only known him less than a day, I can speak to some of his habits already. Rent-a-cat enjoys hiding from loud noises, growling in fear, chewing on plants, and nighttime adventures that include knocking fish food off the counter and opening the can on the floor so that it spills everywhere.

Because he is such a wussy, rent-a-cat has readily adapted to following me around from room to room, which isn't very hard since there are only two rooms in my apartment. He also likes to be close to me while I'm working. Close as in touching the keyboard or laying next to the monitor.

Rent-a-cat promises more exciting adventures to come. Stay tuned.
